There are many tricks that custom home builders use to attract customers and make sales.  One common tactic is to advertise home models using pictures or renderings of fully completed homes with all sorts of attractive features and a price designed to get your attention and create excitement, except the price shown doesn’t include what is shown in the picture.  The customer often finds out halfway through the sales process, or even after the sales process, that what they thought they were buying is not included in the price that got them so excited in the first place.  When the customer adds up all the “extras” that they thought they were already getting, the price isn’t so exciting anymore.

Another slippery strategy is to say nothing online.  Well, not exactly nothing, but nothing of substance.  No models to show with floor plans, renderings, pictures, or prices.  There may be some still photos of completed projects and a lot of chest-puffing about how they are better and different, but with no real explanation of how or why.  On every page, as the customer clicks through the site looking for something, anything of substance that might give them a hint of what kind of homes they can build and what they might cost, all they find are pop-ups trying to get them to call or come in for a “consultation” so that their sales team can begin setting the hook.  Fancy offices or model homes with shiny showrooms are designed to excite and distract the customer from the truth about their process and their price.

Here at Diggs, we don’t use tricks.  We put it all out there and include EVERYTHING in the home.  Our online prices include everything shown in a lead picture or rendering, and if there are multiple pictures or renderings, the price is for the most expensive one shown.  For models or plans that do not have interior features shown, we price the home using our Signature Specifications which are our standards.  Of course, we’d love to talk to you in person, on a video call, or over the phone if you have questions or would like to get started on your dream home.  Still, as a modern custom home builder without anything to hide, we feel like you should have as much information about who we are, how we do things, and what we could do for you before you decide to invest the time to meet with us.  Our website is designed to educate as much as it is to attract.  We believe in what we do and how we do it.  No need to build false hopes or blow smoke in order to get you face-to-face with someone trying to get you to sign a contract as fast as possible.  We use a Cost + Plus open book agreement that allows full transparency throughout the build.  So why wouldn’t we be fully transparent in our marketing as well?  We don’t want our customers putting their appliances or even their front porch on their credit cards because of a “misunderstanding” due to shady marketing and sales tactics.  Diggs believes that the more you know about us, the more you’ll like us, which we hope will make you comfortable enough to decide to invest the time to talk with us.
