Building a custom takes time. How long does it take to build a home? This graphical illustration will help you understand the different phases of the home building process.

There is the initial administration phase, then design/planning and permitting, Foundation site preparation and installation, then the full construction phase which includes framing, installing the roof, doors, windows, mechanical and electrical and other components. Then, of course, your final walkthrough, final inspections, and the anticipated move-in date.
